Andrew and Michelle Tate are professional Ten Dance competitors, instructors and adjudicators. Ten Dance is the decathlon of dancesport, combining five Latin dances - Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive; and five ballroom dances - Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep.
Andrew and Michelle are 3-time U.S. Professional National Ten Dance finalists, as well as former U.S. Amateur National Ten Dance Champions
and U.S. representatives to the World Games. As professional dancers, they have attained Member level certification for Teaching and Judging through the North American Dance Teachers
Association.
The pair began dancing together in 1997. They met through the ballroom dance club at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where
Andrew completed his Ph.D. in Neuroscience, and Michelle earned her Master's in Business Administration. Currently, Andrew is manager of BPT Architecture at SC Johnson & Son, Inc., while Michelle
manages their dance business. In addition to competing and performing, Andrew and Michelle teach private and group lessons to social and competitive ballroom dancers in Milwaukee and throughout the
Midwest. They have successfully guided students to national titles in both Latin and Ballroom, and trained the Indiana University and University of Illinois Dancesport teams.
